Description
The Model 15 Saw is a compact, rigidly constructed instrument. The cast base of the saw houses the coolant recirculation unit, coolant trough and cross-slide/clamping vice assembly which may be lifted out for ease of cleaning.
A column at the rear right hand side of the base supports the motor and cutting head, the height of which may be varied to accommodate a wide range of shapes and sizes. A counterbalance mechanism allows a variable cutting load to be set. A quick release vice is provided for convenient holding of specimens. They may be clamped directly in the vice or mounted on a holder. Plasticine is sufficient for wire sawing but stronger adhesion is required when disc sawing.
Other options such as tilt table, goniometer and rotary table are available to assist in your special orientation requirements, and the LD2 hydraulic linear drive unit has been designed to aid the operator in the dicing of LiNbO3 and other electro-optic materials.
