 Key Features

  • Calibration certified and tested by METAS
  • Easy to read digital display
  • Traffic light indicators measure tolerance levels
  • Rubber seals ensure durability and eliminate material ingress
  • Simple to retro-fit to existing Logitech jigs

Upgrading an old analogue gauge to a new digital gauge is a cost effective way to improve the usability and effectiveness of your PP5, PP6 and PP8 precision lapping and polishing jigs.

The new digital gauges represent a significant improvement over older versions and now incorporate an LCD digital display instead of the old analogue face (see image above) - making it much easier to read.

A number of different 'modes' are available in the new digital gauge, allowing for greater flexibility in its use:

  • Reference mode
  • Minmax mode
  • Tolerance mode

Additionally, every one of our new digital gauges have calibration certification to ensure quality and precision, and are tested in reference with a master of certified traceability by METAS (federal office of metrology and accreditation, Switzerland).

Tolerance Warning Indicators Increase Automation

The new digital gauge comes supplied with a 3 colour traffic LED system that monitors tolerance and material removal levels. It works by setting a minimum material removal level (e.g. 80µm) and a maximum level (e.g. 100µm). The indicator lights display the following, depending on the amount of material removed:

  1. RED - Below lower limit
  2. GREEN - Within lower and upper limit
  3. AMBER - Above upper limit

Using this technology, an operator can quickly and easily identify if the correct amount of material has been removed from their sample. This simplifies the process and allows the technician to focus their attention on other tasks.

Retro-Fit

Upgrading to one of the new gauges is very straightforward as it is fully compatible with exisiting Logitech lapping and polishing jigs (PP5, PP6 and PP8). The optional digital gauge is available as a retro-fit option and the procedure is so simple it literally takes 60 seconds. We have prepared a short demonstration video showing how easy it is to perform the upgrade:

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I trust the gauge to provide accurate, reliable results?

Every single gauge we supply is supplied with a calibration certificate, ensuring it meets the strringent quality standard we put on our equipment .

Does it need to be serviced? If so, how often?

No, the gauge does not need to be serviced.

Is it waterproof?

The unit is not waterproof and should therefore never be run under a tap or exposed to liquid. The measuring leg is sealed internally and all new gauges are supplied with a rubber sleeve fitted, preventing ingress of liquids and slurry between the sliding components.

Will the new gauge alert me when the desired amount of material has been removed?

Using the 'tolerance' mode, the gauge can visually alert the operator when a minimum and maximum amount of material has been removed during processing via 3 coloured LEDs.

Is this new gauge compatible with my existing jig?

The new gauge is fully compatible with all existing PP5, PP6 and PP8 precision lapping and polishing jigs and is available for purchase as a retro-fit unit.
