Description
The NGS, Next Generation System, from Logitech is a precision lapping machine that incorporates high levels of automation to increase both production efficiency and product output. Available with the unique auto-lap feature, NGS is ideal for applications such as wafer backthinning and waveguide component manufacture in the semiconductor and optoelectronic industries.
Both delicate and brittle materials such as III-V or II-VI semiconductors, and hard materials such as sapphire wafers can be processed in bulk to precise geometric tolerances using NGS automated processing technology.

Easily Upscale Production
4 automated workstations allow the NGS to produce high volumes of wafers and components required for production environments.
Running workstations either independantly or simultaneously allows the ability to multi-task.
Save Time on Operator Training
User friendly controls allow the operator to either set all four workstations to follow a set process with pre-programmed parameters or to follow a manually set process route.
The requirement for oeprator supervision once the initial programming has been carried out is negated.
Decrease Machine Setup Times
The NGS is fitted with an automatic plate flatness control system. The monitor will continuously read the plate shape, registering and correcting and deviation that may develop to within +/- 1 micron of the operator's target.

Jigs measure & control both sample load & stock removal providing fine control over the process conditions, resulting in both higher yield and throughput.
Self loading / unloading processing arms
Processing arms capable of being lowered or removed either individually or simultaneously, allowing for multi- tasking and increased control over processing. Delicate components, wafers or crystalline structures are protected from damage during loading / unloading sequences as the jig withdraws them within the jig body until each sequence is complete.
Unique auto-lap function
Plate shape is continuously monitored and altered to suit the requirements of the user by a monitoring system which automatically detects the level of plate shape correction required resulting in repeatable material flatness, parallelism & TTV.
Easy to use controls
Process requirements easily entered via a joystick controlled LCD screen conveniently situated at waist height making the NGS particularly user friendly.
Regulated abrasive autofeed
Abrasive flow-rate does not vary according to the level of abrasive available in the tank, ensuring a consistent level of abrasive is supplied at a regulated flow-rate onto the process plate. This leads to a continuous and entirely reproducible rate of stock removal producing highly consistent surface qualities.
Safety hood with opening doors
Operator safety is paramount as the processing area is kept enclosed by a surrounding perspex safety hood with opening doors to allow easy access to the jigs, monitor and abrasive autofeed setup.
